COMMISSIONED WORKS OF ART
If you are interested in having a portrait painted or looking for a special gift for the person who has everything—
portrait paintings, sketches, murals and reproductions of existing works are available by appointment.
The cost of commissioned works varies depending on the style, level of detail, size, and subject matter. If you have a specific budget it is best to contact me and allow me to share with you examples of results within a similar price range.
PORTRAIT PROCEDURE
Begin by sending me an email with a rough idea of the project including subject matter and a general timeline. Please include your phone number in the email so that I may contact you to discuss specific details of the commission. After our conversation I will need high-quality reference images—either physical photos or high-resolution digital
photos. Once I have the reference materials I will create a compositional sketch for your approval followed by a contract for you to sign and return. A 50% deposit is required at the time of the contract with the remainder due upon completion of the work.
PAINTED PORTRAIT PRICING
• Sizes above are average sizes for typical portrait commissions. Email me if you have a specific size or shape in mind.
• Shipping for domestic and international clients is an additional expense.
CHARCOAL PORTRAIT PRICING
Commissioning a charcoal portrait is a great way to get a beautiful piece of art more quickly and at a more affordable price. Portraits from soft materials including charcoal, pastels and sanguine are sought after by families looking for drawings of their children, people looking to have memorials drawn for their family pets as well as historical and religious subjects like weddings and baptisms.
All portraits are "per head"—meaning per person or animal.
• 9 x 12" charcoal portrait $250
• 14 x 17" charcoal portrait $400
• 16 x 20" charcoal portrait $550
• 18 x 24" charcoal portrait $750
All prices are for unframed portraits. Charcoal portraits can be framed as well.
METHOD OF PAYMENT FOR PORTRAIT WORK
Payment can be made via all major credit cards, Paypal, check or money order. Work will be shipped once payment has been received.
ADDITIONAL ITEMS
Travel expenses and the cost of crating and shipping are not included in the contract, and are the responsibility of the client. All arrangements falling under this category will be discussed before the portrait if it is an issue and will be included in the contract before initiating the portrait. Framing is also the responsibility of the client.
